Behavior

Before going to veterinary school Dr. Mathis had her own dog training and behavior business. She studied all types of training but uses primarily positive reinforcement methods. During veterinary school she was pleased to find that the positive reinforcement techniques were the center of the new Specialty in Veterinary Behavior. During Vet School she added psychopharmacology to her repertoire, but continues to use primarily training and client education to solve problem behaviors. Traditional Chinese Medicine also is useful with many behavior cases.

Both dog and cat cases are accepted, and rabbit and horse cases would be considered.

Initial appointments typically take one to two hours and are done in your home. See Fees & Schedules for pricing.
